Vitro means IN GLASS or IN THE LABORATORY, hence the term TEST TUBE BABIES.

In IVF, fertilization occurs in a shallow glass or porcelain dish. IVF process is very complex but at the same time, it’s very simple which involves the removal of eggs from the ovaries, fertilization with sperm in the laboratory, and transferal of the early embryos into the uterus.
