California State Capitol Visit Breastfeeding Rights and Paid Family Leave For All

Last 4 days were so productive at CA Breastfeeding Summit 2020 hosted by California Breastfeeding Coalition. I have met so many new people and learned a lot about breastfeeding. We need to support more breastfeeding mothers for better living.

Yesterday we made a trip to California State Capitol for Advocacy Day—because stronger economic supports help create healthier families & relationships!

The California Work & Family Coalition partnered with the California Breastfeeding Coalition, Legal Aid at WorkAid, Breastfeed LA: The Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles and ACLU of Northern California. We were about 65 CBC members and Coalition members and met 55 legislators and staff on the benefits of Paid Family Leave for new parents and diverse families and on the need for universal job protection to make it work for all.

We met Tess  Scherkenback, April Bird, Linda Vo and Tomasa Duenas to share our view on this manner. We are so thankful for senator Hannah-Beth Jackson for sharing her wisdom with all of us.
